Community of Esperanza honors the memory of Steve MountfordEsperanza is a start-up community of about 75 citizens. Lovingly referred to as “Steve’s well”, the well in this area was built to honor the memory of Steve Mountford and was funded by donations to the Steve Mountford Memorial Fund. Above, the community gathers to express their appreciation.

We began in January 2017, starting each day by coming together for a group prayer.

Each day begins with prayer

The local people and our team worked side by side every step of the way and after months of hard work we finished in April.

At a depth of 240 ft. and pumping a steady 35 gal/minute, the well is able to provide clean water to 300 homes planned for this start-up community and has the capacity to keep up with demand as the town grows.Mountain of Hope well rig at Esperanza April 2017

The Steve Mountford Memorial Fund has not only contributed to the creation of this well, but also helped to provide clean water to two other needy communities in the neighboring area this May.
